Prepare to leave UQ

As you approach the end of your HDR program, here's what you'll need to do to prepare to leave UQ.

Use the following information as a guide to supplement your institute or school's off-boarding process.

  1. Create a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  2. Explore support and placements
  3. Advise UQ staff of your departure date
  4. Check fees and fines
  5. Prepare to finalise your research
  1. Update Researcher IDs and ORCID
  2. Update file storage and mySI-net
  3. Return equipment and clean workspaces
  4. Prepare for graduation

1. Create a Unique Student Identifier (USI)

All awards conferred to an individual from Australian higher education institutions are required to be attach a Unique Student Identifier (USI).  Most students already have their USI, but if you do not have a USI, please register for this as soon as possible and update your student profile by taking the following steps:  

  • login to mySI-net
  • click on Personal Details > Unique Student Identifier
  • follow the instructions to enter and save your USI.

This is an important step to do to ensure your award can be conferred.
